Starting Up
2.1 Powering ON the system
Once you have made all
the connections, switch ON your system in the following sequence.
§ Switch ON the power of
all the peripheral devices such as to monitor, printer, etc.
§ Switch ON the power.
Monitor ---- PRINTER OR ANY OTHER PERIPHERALS ------- MACHINE
§ This sequence is VERY
IMPORTANT. Performing the operation in reverse sequence may cause the computer
to malfunction.
§ To prevent accident
erasure of the contents of the floppy disk, always insert floppy disk after you
switch on the computer power, and remove it before you switch off the power.
§ Before you switch OFF
the system, make sure that floppy disk is NOT inserted in the drive.
§ Disconnect the plug
from the power outlet by holding the
plug instead of the power cord.
2.2 Powering OFF
Your System
Before you switch off the
system remove the floppy disk from the drive slot. Observe the following sequence for removing the floppy
disk.
·
Make sure that the floppy disk driver activity lamps
is NOT lit.
·
Press the ejection button (for 3-2’’) to eject out the
floppy disk.
·
Slide out the floppy disk from the slot and store it
in a safe place.
For
powering OFF your system, observe following sequence.
Monitor ---- PRINTER OR ANY OTHER PERIPHERALS ------- MACHINE
·
Turn OFF the power of your computer.
·
Turn OFF the power of the peripherals (printer,
monitor etc.)
·
The reserve sequence ma damage your computer.
·
To avoid damage to your system, connect the
peripherals to your computer only when the power is OFF for both the units.
·
Never touch the power cord or plug with a wet hand.
2.3 displays and controls
Computer
Your
computer has got the following displays and controls.
Displays
Ø Power ON Indicator: The Power knob lights when you
switch ON the computer.
Ø Floppy Disk Drive Status Indicator: When lit, indicators,
the activity on the floppy disk.
Ø Hard Disk Drive Status Indicator: When lit, indicates
the activity on hard disk.
